MOAT PPAR Translations from Citi Field NYC 2026

MCR created their own language and used it to write some messages that concert goers had to decode in order to understand. While people had already decoded it and put the alphabet on the internet, I wanted to decode it myself with no help or spoilers. I was able to do it and here are the messages that I decoded that appeared before the Citi Field NYC concert.

MOAT PPAR #17:

The payphone in the day room is out of order for the 5th year.

MOAT PPAR #53:

Additional rounds of Ministry Approved therapy will be made available to odd numbers on Tuesdays and even numbers on Thursdays.

MOAT PPAR #62:

Those prisoners with odd numbers will remain in solitary confinement for the first half the month, prisoners with even numbers will remain in solitary confinement for the last half of the month. There are exceptions based on familial wheat status.

MOAT PPAR #79:

Those born in August are subject to additional inspection.

MOAT PPAR #80:

Flailing of limbs will result in prolonged solitude. This dispatch additionally applies to the gnawing of teeth and rending of uniform.

MOAT PPAR #86:

Times are not for amusement. Those caught messing about will spend one week in whisper confinement.

My Decoding Process (for those curious)

I decoded everything myself without internet!! It was very fun! I recognized certain characters from Old English, Greek, & Soviet Latin. Here are a couple similar/shared characters.

-	Γ - gamma	И (i), Д (de), Ч (che), Ҙ (dhe), Ш (sha)

I started by trying to find the word "the". I've done frequency analysis of the English language before, and T is one of the most frequent letters used. The word "the" is also very frequent and fairly easy to pick out in a sentence due to being short and repetitive.

Because I recognized the thorn þ character, I knew I was likely looking for a 2-letter word instead of 3, since thorn makes the "th" sound.

When I found a 2-letter word that fit the bill, I assumed that the second letter in the word must be an "e". I then looked at other words with those letters and tried to see what fit, starting with small words that are easy to guess, like be, he, it, on, in, is, etc.

It wasn't until a bit later that my friend pointed out that there was a screen that showed the same text in English and then the coded language. By simply comparing the two translations, I was able to get a lot of letters translated, basically as freebies (Letters: PRISONER GATE). The letters MCR were also written in the coded language, so I knew what M, C and R translated to.

From there it was just a game of pattern recognition and filling in possible words and trying out those translations with other words to ensure they produced coherent words. I had a lot of fun, and am glad I got to use some of my "useless" knowledge from college and late night Wikipedia dives lol

I heard others say they were going to ask ChatGPT to translate it for them, which is so sad because 1. There is already a translated alphabet online, and 2. You're missing the point of it all! The point is to have fun and do some problem solving! You're letting AI rob you of funnnnnnnnnn T_T Isn't it more fun to try to crack the code with your friends rather than get an easy answer through AI? Is there no whimsy anymore? Sigh, I'm rambling.
